ASPs ( Accountancy Service Providers )

The Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs) 2007 came into effect on the 15th December 2007. Under the revised MLRs HMRC is the supervisory authority for Accountancy Service Protectors. It is your responsibility to decide whether the type of activity you undertake falls within the scope of the Money Laundering Regulations and therefore whether the business needs to register with HMRC. Helpfully HMRC will assist in deciding but will not give written assurance that any business does not need to register.
